CCHS allows students to "pass out of" Geometry Honors, Algebra 2 Honors/Trigonometry, or Pre-Calculus Honors by passing a final exam in August, before the new school year begins. This allows students to "skip" the full-year course and advance to the next level. Please note that students do not receive graduation credits for any class they "pass out of."
Cherry Creek School District has a formal application process for students to apply for the opportunity to take these exams. You must go through this district application and approval process in order to "pass out" of a class. Please ensure you have at least started the application process before registering. Saccomano Academics is not authorized to approve students for testing; all applications and approvals must be handled through Cherry Creek High School and the Cherry Creek School District.
Students planning to complete a full course of curriculum by the beginning of August should begin working on their "Pre-Work" just after Spring Break in March. This is a self-paced portion of the program, with testing at the end of each section conducted in person at our office. Additionally, students should plan to work in our office for a minimum of 4 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, for all eight weeks of our summer session to cover all materials and complete the required practice finals.
To qualify for testing out of a subject, you need to have a solid A (93% or above) in your current math class—not a B or A-. If your grade is below this threshold, our first discussion should focus on how to support you in raising your grade to meet this requirement.
Start working early in the second semester (January/February) to obtain district authorization for taking the exam in August, which will determine if you qualify to test out of the subject.

After completing Algebra 1, if you have excelled in your class by demonstrating a strong work ethic and mastery of algebra, you may have the opportunity to "skip" Geometry Honors.
To pursue this option, you will need to work with your teacher, counselor, and math coordinator.
As part of the process to "pass out" of Geometry Honors, you must take an exam (administered by CCHS) in August. If you score above 90% on the exam and meet all other district requirements, you may be eligible to skip Geometry Honors and move directly into Algebra 2 Honors/Trigonometry.
After completing Geometry Honors, if you have excelled in your class by demonstrating a strong work ethic and mastery of both geometry and algebra, you may have the opportunity to skip Algebra 2 Honors/Trigonometry.
To pursue this option, you will need to work with your teacher, counselor, and math coordinator.
As part of the process to "pass out" of Algebra 2 Honors/Trigonometry, you must take an exam (administered by CCHS) in August. If you score above 90% on the exam and meet all other district requirements, you may be eligible to skip Algebra 2 Honors/Trigonometry and move directly into Pre-Calculus Honors.
